BACOLOD City – A pedicab driver was stabbed to death by his co-driver at Purok Nangka, Barangay 3 here last Sunday.
Police identified the victim as Dennis Panigue, 41, of the said village.
Captain Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, said Panigue and the suspect identified as Judy Enopia were having a drinking session that afternoon when the latter advised the victim to go home.
However, Panigue reportedly got mad and returned with a knife, prompting Enopia to also get a weapon.
They chased each other until Enopia was able to corner Panigue who succumbed to multiple stab wounds.
Police arrived at the scene and caught Enopia, reportedly holding a knife beside the victim. He tried to escape but he was arrested.
The incident was captured by one of the residents in the area and the video was posted on social media.
Estopa said grudges triggered the killing, adding that both were under the influence of liquor.
Murder charges were already filed against Enopia yesterday, the station commander added.
