BACOLOD City – A pedicab driver was wounded after he was shot by an unidentified man in the middle of a commotion at 18th-Aguinaldo Streets, Barangay 3 here Sunday night.
The victim was identified by police as Jason Baron, 32, of the said village.
Captain Leo Estopa, head of Police Station 2, said Baron, along with some of his companions, who were reportedly drunk, met a group of persons in the area earlier that day.
Baron and his companions went to the other group which resulted in a commotion between them, the station commander added.
“Nag suya-ay ang duwa ka grupo, wala man may nakabalo na may armas gali ang isa sa ila,” Estopa said.
Baron was just standing by when he was hit by a bullet, Estopa said.
Baron was taken to a private hospital here and was later transferred to another hospital in Silay City.
Estopa said they will check closed-circuit television (CCTV) footage to find out who initiated the commotion and the person behind the shooting.
He said they already have a witness to the incident.
