BACOLOD City – The E.B. Magalona Municipal Police Station in Negros Occidental is investigating the death of a man who was believed to have been summarily executed, or “salvaged” in Filipino slang.
The body of Nilo Fuentes, 54, a pedicab driver from Barangay 2, Bacolod City was found inside a sealed sack that was left at Sta. Monica Subdivision, Barangay Tabigue, E.B. Magalona town early Friday.
Captain Wilfredo Benoman Jr., town police chief, said they received a call around 2 am informing them about a lifeless body found by the roadside.
When police responded, they saw the victim with multiple gunshot wounds in the head and body.
Police also recovered from the scene a placard with the words “Pusher ako. Tularan niyo para malaman niyo. (I’m a pusher. Follow my ways and you will know).”
Benoman said that it is possible that the victim was killed somewhere and was later left in the area.
He said they have no lead yet on the identities of the perpetrators since nobody sighted suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area.
