PDIC sets Visayas-Mindanao property e-bidding

MANILA — The Philippine Deposit Insurance Corp. will offer 59 properties in the Visayas and Mindanao through electronic public bidding on Aug. 26–27, 2026.

Bids may be submitted through the PDIC Assets for Sale portal at https://assetsforsale.pdic.gov.ph beginning at 9 a.m. on Aug. 26.

The submission period will close at 1 p.m. on Aug. 27, while the opening of bids is scheduled for 2 p.m. on the same day.

Three of the properties are prime commercial assets in the municipalities of Lugait and Naawan in Misamis Oriental.

Lugait is located within an industrial corridor where major manufacturing and processing facilities generate demand for support services.

Naawan is an emerging coastal destination that the PDIC said offers potential opportunities for business expansion and investment.

The electronic bidding will also cover 56 other assets, including 23 vacant agricultural lots and one agricultural property with improvements.

The remaining properties consist of 20 vacant residential lots, nine residential properties with improvements, two vacant agricultural-residential lots and one agricultural-residential property with improvements.

The properties range in size from 92 square meters to 12.4 hectares, providing options for individual buyers, property developers, agribusiness investors and commercial enterprises.

The Visayas properties are located in Aklan, Antique, Bohol, Capiz, Cebu, Iloilo, Leyte, Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental.

The Mindanao properties are in Agusan del Norte, Davao del Sur, Misamis Occidental, Misamis Oriental, Sultan Kudarat and Zamboanga Sibugay.

The bidding is open to qualified buyers who register through the PDIC’s electronic bidding portal.

Prospective buyers must complete a one-time registration at https://assetsforsale.pdic.gov.ph/Account/Register to join the Aug. 26–27 bidding and future asset disposal activities.

The complete property catalog, individual property details, bidding guidelines and documentary requirements are available on the same portal.

Participants bidding for another person or an organization may also download the prescribed Special Power of Attorney and Secretary’s Certificate forms from the portal.

All properties will be sold on an as-is, where-is basis.

The PDIC advised bidders to conduct comprehensive due diligence on each property’s physical condition, legal status and ownership before submitting an offer.

Participants should also review the Conditions of Bid posted on the portal to ensure compliance with the agency’s procedures.

Successful bidders for agricultural properties must submit an Affidavit of Aggregate Landholdings and a certification from the Department of Agrarian Reform’s provincial agrarian reform officer within 15 days of the electronic bidding.

The provincial agrarian reform officer’s certification must confirm that the property is not covered by the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program.

The certification must also state that no Emancipation Patent or Certificate of Land Ownership Award has been issued for the property.

The affidavit must confirm that the bidder’s aggregate landholdings, including the property acquired through the sale, remain within the legal limit of five hectares.

The PDIC serves as the statutory receiver and liquidator of banks ordered closed by the Monetary Board of the Bangko Sentral ng Pilipinas.

As part of that mandate, the corporation disposes of the remaining assets of closed banks to maximize recoveries and help settle creditors’ claims, including those of depositors whose funds exceeded the applicable deposit insurance coverage.

Proceeds from closed bank-owned properties are placed in funds managed by the PDIC for the respective closed banks and are used to settle creditors’ claims.

Revenue from the sale of PDIC-owned corporate assets is added to the Deposit Insurance Fund, which finances valid deposit insurance claims.
