PDEA seizes PHP 3.4M shabu in Bacolod

BACOLOD CITY — A 23-year-old unemployed man was arrested by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency in a drug bust that resulted in the seizure of PHP 3.4 million worth of suspected shabu in Barangay 10 here Tuesday.
Arrested was Nonoy, a resident of Purok Boulevard, Barangay 14 here, who allegedly yielded 500 grams of suspected shabu.
He was tagged as a high-value target.
Investigation Agent 1 Keith Capili, PDEA-Negros Island Region spokesperson, said the investigation is ongoing to determine the suspect’s drug network and the source of the contraband.
Capili said authorities are checking the extent of the suspect’s alleged involvement in the illegal drug trade.
She added that the operation was launched following reports on his alleged illegal activity.
She, however, said they could not provide more details pending validation and further investigation.
It was the suspect’s first apprehension for a drug offense, according to Capili.
The operation followed the arrest of a 43-year-old delivery rider in Barangay Vista Alegre here on May 6, which resulted in the seizure of 65 grams of suspected shabu worth PHP 442,000.
Meanwhile, police also apprehended a 38-year-old man in Barangay 5, Victorias City, Negros Occidental, on Monday after confiscating 63 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 428,400.
