BACOLOD City – Eight persons were arrested after an alleged drug den was dismantled by authorities in a buy-bust operation at Barangay 2 here last Sunday.
The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-Negros Occidental and Police Station 2 busted alleged drug den maintainer Analyn Nacionales.
Seven others were also arrested after they were sighted in the alleged drug den.
Confiscated from them were about 12 grams of suspected shabu worth P81,600, improvised glass tooters, lighters, cellular phones, a pair of scissors, and the marked money.
Charges for violation of Sections 5 (sale of dangerous drugs), 6 (maintaining a drug den), 7 (visiting a drug den), 11 (illegal possession of dangerous drugs), and 12 (illegal possession of drug paraphernalia) of Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002 are being readied against the suspects.
Meanwhile, police also seized P44,200 worth of suspected shabu in separate drug bust operations in the cities of Talisay and Escalante in Negros Occidental from August 12 to 15.
For Bacolod, police also recovered P2,500 worth of suspected marijuana in Barangay Sum-ag on August 12, and P88,400 worth of suspected shabu in Barangays Vista Alegre and 30 on August 12 and 13.
