PDEA arrests 3 in Roxas City drug den sting

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — Three people were arrested Tuesday morning, Sept. 15, in an anti-illegal drug operation conducted by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) at an alleged drug den in Barangay Tanque here.

Authorities identified the suspects as Wynel Arcangeles, 56; Arjay Barbasa, 41, of Pontevedra, Capiz; and Kevin Regionel, 25, of Iloilo City.

Arcangeles had been arrested for the same offense five years ago.

The suspects admitted using illegal drugs but strongly denied selling them.

Authorities recovered 11 sachets of suspected shabu and PHP 500 in buy-bust money used by the poseur-buyer.

The suspects were brought to the custodial facility of PDEA Regional Office 6 for drug testing.

The seized items were submitted for laboratory examination.

The suspects will face charges for violations of Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

Under RA 9165, a drug den is a place where dangerous drugs are administered, delivered, stored for illegal purposes, distributed, sold, or used.
