PDEA-6 gets 7 new K9 dogs

BACOLOD City – The Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA)-6 received seven new K9 dogs to help in the campaign against illegal drugs and the conduct of inspection in airports, seaports, and transport terminals in Western Visayas.

PDEA-6 director Alex Tablate said the regional agency has two existing narco-detection dogs, but with the additional K9 dogs, it can already provide one per province.

For Negros Occidental, one K9 dog will be provided each in the cities of Bacolod and San Carlos, he added.

“We will be augmenting other provinces when the need arise,” he said.

The new K9 dogs arrived at Caticlan airport in Malay, Aklan last Thursday.

The newly-trained K9 will be joining their respective handlers for their proper disposition and new assignments.
