BACOLOD City – Commander Joe Luviz Mercurio was designated as the new commander of the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG)-Northern Negros Occidental effective Feb. 5, 2022.
Mercurio replaced Captain Ludovico Librilla Jr., who served as concurrent station commander here and in the province for more than a year now.
Librilla was reassigned to the Coast Guard District Western Visayas (CGDWV) in Iloilo City as deputy district commander.
Mercurio was assigned to CGDWV in March 2019 and was also previously assigned as PCG station commander of Capiz, Iloilo, and Aklan.
Mercurio belongs to the Coast Guard Officer Course Class 02-2001, alongside Librilla.
