PBA’s first-ever 3×3 tournament all set with 16 teams

The Philippine Basketball Association’s first-ever 3×3 tournament is finally happening with 16 teams set to see action.

With 12 main franchise teams and four guest teams, the PBA 3×3 tournament will have three conferences, three grand finals, and 18 total legs.

According to 3×3 chairman Dickie Bachmann, PBA’s newest tournament is initially slated on April 11 and will cater to the fans on Fridays and Saturdays from 9 AM to 2 PM.

However, minor adjustments might take place, depending on the decision of the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases’ decisions.

First, the IATF and the PBA board tackled the league’s new half-court rule modifications on the COVID-19 protocols.

The initial plan of the PBA is to allow four players in each squad and two reserves under a semi-bubble, closed-circuit format.

If the IATF won’t allow the proposed plan and will have to go back to the full-bubble format, the PBA 3×3 squads will only have one reserve each.
