PBA to kick off 46th season on July 16

The PBA is back.

After a three-month delay due to another outbreak of COVID-19 last April, the PBA finally received the green light from the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) and will begin its 46th season on July 16.

With six days remaining before the resume of the basketball professional league, a “closed-circuit, semi-bubble setup” will be put up at the Ynares Sports Arena in Pasig City.

Before the request was granted by the IATF, the team’s scrimmages and training were already allowed with the consent of the Games and Amusements Board (GAB) headed by Abraham Mitra.

“The recommendations of the professional sports division headed by GAB commissioner Eduard Trinidad has been taken into consideration by the IATF technical working group,” said Mitra.

After a successful 45^th season held in Angeles, Pampanga where they set up their very first playing bubble, the PBA is looking to repeat and even execute better for the safety of their players and coaches.

Following the confirmation of their approved schedule this 2021, the league is yet to release the playing schedule among the teams.
