PBA spares Go and Ravena regarding scrimmage incident

Gilas Pilipinas pool members and Ateneo Blue Eagles teammates Isaac Go and Thirdy Ravena were deeply sorry for the videos that went viral with them joining in a 5-on-5 scrimmage together with PBA forward Japeth Aguilar and rookie Adrian Wong.

Go and Ravena were the first two that PBA commissioner Willie Marcial talked to, and the current godfather of the big league parted some fatherly advice to the two.

Go, who was the first pick during the 2019 PBA draft, is still under loan by the Samahang Basketbol ng Pilipinas (SBP), but still following his contract with the Columbian Dyip, now Terra Firma.

Commissioner Marcial revealed that Go was very apologetic after the incident and will avoid future activities that go against the Inter-Agency Task Force (IATF) on Emerging Infectious Diseases guidelines.

To recall, contact sports are still prohibited under the General Community Quarantine (GCQ) and the Modified General Community Quarantine (MGCQ).

Meanwhile, Japan-bound Ravena also received advice from commissioner Marcial and said Ravena understood the situation pretty well.

Although not yet drafted in the PBA, Ravena is a member of the 23-man Gilas pool for the next FIBA Cup.

However, Marcial said that Aguilar and Wong were already called up and they will show up in his office for an official meeting.

“Kung ano ang explanation nila, doon tayo manggagaling kung ano ang puwedeng gawin sa kanila,” said Marcial.
