PBA: SMB blows out Titan Ultra, extends streak to 3

The San Miguel Beermen continued their winning ways in the ongoing PBA Governors’ Cup after dismantling the Titan Ultra Giant Risers, 143-113, at the Ynares Center in Antipolo on Aug. 12, 2026.

With another victory, San Miguel extended its winning streak to three games, winning by an average of 31 points against Titan Ultra, the Macau Giant Pandas and the Converge FiberXers.

The Beermen picked up where they left off after a 52-point demolition of Macau, dominating a banged-up Titan Ultra squad that had no answers for San Miguel’s high-octane attack.

Titan Ultra still had its engine running at full throttle after edging San Miguel by a point in the first quarter, 27-26, but the Beermen needed only a massive run in the first five minutes of the second period to flip the script.

After trailing by a point, San Miguel suddenly took the driver’s seat and led by 14, courtesy of a demoralizing offensive avalanche from import George King, Don Trollano and Marcio Lassiter.

King opened the second quarter hot in the paint, while the one-two punch of Trollano and Lassiter made it rain from the 3-point line.

To make matters worse, the bench unit, spearheaded by Rodney Brondial and Jeron Teng, picked up where the starters left off, extending San Miguel’s lead to 15 points at halftime.

Titan Ultra tried to slow things down by deploying a three-big lineup at the start of the second half, but the move did little to disrupt San Miguel’s relentless attack and off-ball movement.

To counter Titan Ultra’s bruising defense in the shaded lane, San Miguel ran the horns and floppy sets at will, freeing up Lassiter, Jerrick Ahanmisi and Trollano in both corners.

Titan Ultra waved the white flag when San Miguel’s lead ballooned to a game-high 34 points in the final frame, with the coaching staff pulling all its starters with seven minutes remaining.

King maintained his offensive brilliance for the Beermen, leading all scorers with 39 points to go with 10 rebounds and five assists.

Trollano, who has been on a roll since San Miguel’s ruthless shutdown of Macau, recorded a double-double of 21 points and 10 rebounds, while Lassiter chipped in 15 points.

San Miguel will look to make it four wins in a row on Oct. 10, 2026, against the TNT Tropang 5G, while Titan Ultra aims to arrest its skid on Oct. 11, 2026, against Converge.
