PBA resumes games after Sunday’s cancellation due to Super Typhoon

The Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Commissioner’s Cup is back after suspending its Sunday games due to Super Typhoon ‘Karding’.

Commissioner Willie Marcial and the PBA board decided to cancel the game between the Meralco Bolts and the NLEX Road Warriors and the second game between the Converge FiberXers and the Barangay Ginebra San Miguel last September 25.

With all of the team’s approval, the PBA schedule for today will now push through featuring the debut of the Magnolia Hotshots Chicken Timplados going up against the Columbian Dyip while the Rain or Shine Elastopainters seeking win no. 1 against the Gin Kings.

This is just the conference’s second week with guest team Bay Area Dragons continuing to dominate the local teams with a 2-0 standing.

Myles Powell was quick to introduce himself against the Blackwater Bossing and the NorthPort Batang Pier as the scoring machine import already amassed a total of 78 points in just two games.

Powell dropped 41 big points during Bay Area’s 133-87 massacre of Blackwater and followed it up with a 37-point masterpiece in a shootout against Robert Bolick.

Aside from outdueling one of the PBA’s greatest scorers, Powell also buried the game-winning three-pointer that helped them escape NorthPort in a nail-biter.

The Friday and the weekend schedule of the Commissioner’s Cup were also already given a go signal to take place and will feature three double-header games.

Fresh from winning the PBA Philippine Cup title, the San Miguel Beermen will play their first game back next week and will face the Blackwater squad.

Meanwhile, the second placers, the TNT Tropang Giga, is also scheduled to play their first game next week and will challenge the tough Magnolia team.
