ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A preacher died after he was accidentally electrocuted while fixing the antenna of his television set Tuesday afternoon at Barangay Poblacion Ilaya, Panay, Capiz.
Police identified the victim as Patrick Ismael Bassig, 27, a pastor of Glorious Bible Baptist Mission, and native of Bicutan, Taguig City but temporarily residing in Panay town.
Police investigation indicated that Bassig was fixing his TV antenna when the bamboo pole he was holding on to accidentally touched a live electrical wire of Capiz Electric Cooperatives.
His colleague, a certain Jerry Bermejo, 47, was also electrocuted.
The two were brought to the hospital but Bassig was declared dead on arrival while Bermejo is still under medical treatment.
