ROXAS CITY, Capiz — The province of Capiz officially opened Pasinaya 2026: Paglikha sa Kinabukasan on Saturday, Feb. 7, 2026, at Robinsons Roxas in Pueblo de Panay, marking the province’s selection as one of the regional venues of the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ multi-arts festival.
Pasinaya is the Cultural Center of the Philippines’ annual multi-arts festival that brings performances, workshops and cultural activities to audiences in Metro Manila and selected regional sites.
The opening highlighted the partnership between the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the provincial government of Capiz in bringing national cultural initiatives closer to communities in the regions while providing a platform for local artists to showcase their talents.
Capiz Gov. Fredenil Oto Castro expressed gratitude to the CCP for choosing Capiz as a regional venue and welcomed everyone to Pasinaya 2026, reaffirming the province’s commitment to preserving culture and supporting initiatives that promote Filipino creativity and identity.
The program also featured cultural performances from Capiznon groups, including the Filamer Christian University Silak Dance Company, Colegio de la Purisima Concepcion Sarayawan Dance Company, the FCU Chorale, and the Tanque National High School Rondalla, showcasing the province’s artistic heritage.
Pasinaya 2026 in Capiz underscored the province’s role as a partner in national cultural programs that celebrate Filipino arts, culture and creativity.
Also present were officials from the CCP, led by Cultural Exchange Department Manager Carmencita Jasareno-Bernardo, and provincial officials, including Capiz Provincial Tourism and Cultural Affairs Officer Alphonsus Tesoro and Board Member Trina Marie Ignacio.
The activity was also attended by mayors Dante Eslabon and Stephen Openiano, Schools Division Superintendent Dr. Roel Bermejo, and representatives from schools and local governments, as well as participating artists, performers from different parts of the Philippines and other attendees.
On Sunday, Feb. 8, the group performed at the Sigma Civic Center in Sigma, Capiz, with the governor in attendance.
Sigma Mayor Dante Rizal Eslabon welcomed the group and presented the Dagway Sigmahanon, a local talent that drew praise from other cultural sectors.
