ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A parolee was arrested in a drug buy-bust operation Saturday evening in Plaridel street here.
Members of the Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit (PDEU) collared Jose Sumeran of Poblacion llawod, Dumarao, Capiz inside a lodge.
Recovered from the suspect were two sachets of suspected shabu, three empty sachets with suspected shabu residue, the P500 marked money, P340 cash, and cellphone.
Sumeran said he checked in the lodge because he was waiting for a girl whom he met at Roxas Avenue.
But he was surprised when the police entered his rented room. While he admitted using illegal drugs, he denied selling banned substances.
Charges for violations of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) will be filed against Sumeran who is detained at the the Roxas City police station.
The suspect was released from jail on parole for a criminal case.
