ROXAS CITY, Capiz — A man from Pontevedra, Capiz, was arrested after he allegedly ransacked a church in Panitan town and carted away cash donations from parishioners Sunday night, May 17.
Police identified the suspect as alias Den, 29, of Barangay Tacas, Pontevedra, Capiz.
Information from the Panitan Municipal Police Station said a youth coordinator noticed a noise inside the church around 11 p.m.
The youth coordinator later caught the suspect allegedly carrying two boxes when he checked the source of the noise.
The youth coordinator sought police assistance, and authorities recovered from the suspect two boxes containing donations amounting to about PHP 1,200.
The suspect was placed under the custody of the Panitan Municipal Police Station, while appropriate charges are being prepared against him.
