BACOLOD City – The Panaad sa Negros Festival on April 20-26, 2020 might be cancelled due to the coronavirus disease (COVID-19).
Negros Occidental Governor Eugenio Jose Lacson said Monday that he will meet with mayors in the province and consult them on the possible cancellation of the festival.
President Rodrigo Duterte issued on Monday Proclamation No. 922 declaring a state of public health emergency throughout the country after the Department of Health confirmed the local transmission of COVID-19 with 20 cases so far.
“Panaad is successful because of the cooperation of the local chief executives and their respective localities,” he said.
Lacson said he will let the mayors decide on the matter.
