The Iloilo Police Provincial Office has designated Major Jose Nemias Pamplona as the new chief of the Pavia Municipal Police Station.
Pamplona, formerly the chief of police in Sara, replaced Major Dadje Delima, who had been serving as officer-in-charge following the administrative relief of Major Harold Rendora.
Delima will now focus on his role as chief of the IPPO Provincial Drug Enforcement Unit.
Colonel Bayani Razalan, Iloilo police chief, said Pamplona officially assumed his new post on April 7.
Captain Theodore Saboy, deputy chief of the IPPO Provincial Intelligence Unit, was designated as Sara’s new police chief.
Meanwhile, Rendora was reassigned to replace Saboy at the IPPO PIU.
Rendora was relieved of duty on April 4, a day after the fatal shooting at Parc Regency Iloilo in Barangay Ungka II, Pavia.
The incident resulted in the death of Wilmer Casquite Villarosa, a stay-in driver of Land Transportation Office Region 6 Director Atty. Gaudioso Geduspan II.
Razalan said Rendora’s relief was ordered after he failed to act on a report that one of the suspects was in possession of firearms and a grenade.
An investigation by the IPPO Provincial Investigation and Detective Management Unit was launched following his relief.
Razalan added that if the investigation proves Rendora responded to the report, he may be reinstated.
However, if found negligent, he could face administrative charges for misfeasance.
