ROXAS CITY, Capiz – A 50-year-old painter was stabbed dead by his drinking buddy Sunday afternoon at Barangay Dayao here.
Police identified the victim as Arthur Aman who succumbed to fatal stab wounds in different parts of his body.
Investigation by the Roxas City police indicated that Aman and the suspect identified as Billy Manalo were drinking at the latter’s rest house when a heated argument erupted.
Manalo suddenly drew a knife and stabbed the victim.
Aman was taken to Roxas Memorial Provincial Hospital where he died.
The suspect immediately fled after the incident, but he later surrendered to the police.
Meanwhile, a man with mental illness was found dead in a river Sunday morning in Brgy. Banica.
The police identified the victim as Jose Ignacio of Real St., Barangay 1, Roxas City.
The victim was last seen on Friday in front of a building on McKinley Street here.
