ROXAS CITY, CAPIZ – A total of 144 families of Barangay Lanot here who were affected by Typhoon Paeng last year are set to receive P5,000 each in financial assistance from the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD).
This was confirmed by Kapitan Rolando “Totong” Tuazon to Daily Guardian on Friday last week.
Tuazon said all families affected by the typhoon will receive the assistance on July 12, together with 8 other barangays of Roxas City.
The other barangays are Loctugan, Bago, Adlawan, Cabugao, Lonoy, San Jose, Humaguicjic and Lanot.
It may be recalled that Paeng hit the province of Capiz in October 2022 wherein several houses were destroyed and rice fields and root crops flooded and damaged.
