Pacquiao’s case as best pound-for-pound

In ESPN’s segment Max on Boxing, Max Kellerman explained and broke down Manny “Pacman” Pacquiao’s chances of being the best pound-for-pound fighter ever.

During the show, Kellerman first explained what pound-for-pound means – being able to dominate after a fighter goes up to a higher weight class.

With Pacquaio’s case, he was obliterating opponents in every weight class he advanced to.

Kellerman said, “think about what Pacquaio did from flyweight to a 154-pound fighter. From a teenager to a 40-year old. And when you consider the heights he reached, you’re talking about certainly one of the best pound-for-pound fighters of all time, and he has the case of being the best pound-for-pound fighter of all time.”

He also explained that being the best pound-for-pound means looking the accolades during the peak of a fighter’s career.

“Pacman destroyed the top names with every division he stepped into. He embarrassed Marco Antonio Barrera, he destroyed Morales, Cotto, de la Hoya, and last but least he was the reason for Ricky Hatton’s downfall to the sport.” Kellerman added.

Pacman just recently defied father time at the age of 40 and showed the world that he can still compete at the highest level.
