Pacquiao-Stevenson cross-generational bout eyed for December

Fight fans, everything is slowly turning into reality.

On Sept. 24, 2026, premier digital sports media outlet BoxingScene dropped a massive update about the ongoing fight negotiations between Filipino icon Manny Pacquiao and welterweight champion Shakur Stevenson.

According to BoxingScene, two of its insiders closely monitoring the negotiations revealed that the fight is eyed to take place on Dec. 11, 2026, at Principality Stadium in Cardiff, United Kingdom.

Furthermore, the highly anticipated showdown is also being eyed as part of a double-main event featuring heavyweight superstars Anthony Joshua and Tyson Fury.

The two insiders also added that global streaming platform Netflix is interested in acquiring the live broadcast rights to the proposed doubleheader.

In retrospect, Pacquiao’s camp began looking for a huge fight before the end of 2026 after rematch talks with Floyd Mayweather Jr. stalled.

Unlike Mario Barrios, whom Pacquiao fought during his professional comeback last year, Stevenson presents a stiffer challenge and is ranked the No. 3 pound-for-pound boxer in the world.

Considered a mirror image of Mayweather, Stevenson blends calculated aggression with high-level defense, including the use of the shoulder roll.

Stevenson is coming off a dominant outing in February, when he dethroned Teofimo Lopez to win the WBO and The Ring junior welterweight belts.

Although Pacquiao is exploring his options against the sport’s younger champions, his camp reiterated that its ultimate goal is still to arrange a rematch with Mayweather.

Despite the shaky negotiations, Pacquiao’s camp remains optimistic that it can make the fight happen, with the rematch tentatively targeted for early 2027.
