A 47-year-old father and his two sons were charged for allegedly hacking a couple evening of June 3, 2020 in Patnongon, Antique.
Junie Alagos and his sons Raymund Alagos, 22, and Jun-Jun (not his real name), 17, were charged for two counts of frustrated murder on Friday. All suspects are residents of Barangay Pandanan where the incident took place.
Police Staff Sergeant John Rowell Jomolo, Patnongon police investigator, said the three suspects fled after they attacked Joseph Besañez, 44, and his wife Jerose, 38, also residents of Pandanan village.
Raymund surrendered 12 pm Thursday while his father and younger brother remain at large as of this writing.
Reports indicated that the suspects and victims both attended a birthday party of a certain Josephine Cayetano before the hacking episode.
The three suspects attacked the couple who were on their way home.
Joseph and Jerose were taken to Angel Salazar Memorial General Hospital in San Jose town.
Jamolo said grudges may have triggered the incident.
The Alagos allegedly had ill feelings against the couple after they fenced the shortcut route to the suspects’ house.
With Raymund’s surrender, Jamolo said the two other suspects might also yield soon.
