Pa drowns, daughter survives as flood sweeps motorcycle

ROXAS City – A 49-year-old father drowned while his minor daughter survived after a flash flood swept their motorcycle they Wednesday afternoon in Poblacion Ilawod, Dao, Capiz.
Larry Duron of Barangay Bangonbangon, Sigma, Capiz was declared dead in a hospital.
According to Marissa Duron, her husband and their daughter went to the village school on board a motorcycle to get the latter’s learning modules.
When they returned for home, the duo passed by nearby Dao town using a shortcut, unmindful of the strong flood current in the area that swept their bike.
Larry was able to save his daughter from drowning before he and his motorcycle disappeared in the floodwater.
The Dao Emergency Response Unit and Bureau of Fire Protection rescued the child but it was too late for the father who died at the Sen. Gerardo Roxas Memorial District Hospital in Dao town.
