Pa, 80, stabbed by son in Roxas City

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — An 80-year-old man was stabbed by his own son on Sunday night, Jan. 4, in Barangay Dinginan, Roxas City.
Police identified the victim as Jun, while the suspect was identified as alias “Jonery,” 56. Both are residents of the same barangay.
An investigation by the Roxas City Police Station showed that the victim was lying in a cradle inside their house when the suspect arrived, cut the rope of the cradle without warning, and stabbed his father several times using a bolo.
Despite his injuries, the victim managed to walk to his brother’s house nearby to seek help.
The victim was brought to Capiz Emmanuel Hospital for treatment, while police launched a hot pursuit operation against the suspect.
Police said they are still investigating the motive behind the attack.
The victim is reported to be in stable condition.
