BACOLOD City – About P680,000 worth of suspected shabu was seized from a senior citizen and her companion in a buy-bust at a parking area of a shopping mall, along South Capitol Road in Barangay 8 here yesterday.
Police identified the subject as Susana Diaz, 62, of Barangay 2 here; and her companion Jose Carlos, 21, of Barangay Guinhalaran, Silay City, Negros Occidental.
Joint operatives of Philippine National Police (PNP)-Drug Enforcement Group, and Police Station 2 conducted the operation that resulted in the recovery of 100 grams of suspected shabu and the P1,000 marked money.
Police Captain Paul Vincent Pendon, head of Police Station 2, said Diaz is considered a high value individual, while Carlos is a street level individual.
Both are allegedly operating here and in neighboring cities.
Pendon said they are still probing the source or supplier of the seized substance.
Pendon said that Carlos alleged that he was a client of Diaz, but police believed that they were both engaging in the illegal drug transaction.
“Ongoing pa naman investigation sa ila to check their background,” he added.
Pendon said that Diaz will be facing charges for allegedly selling illegal drugs, while Carlos will be facing charges for conspiracy, as he was present when the operation happened.
