P500K lost in Pontevedra house fire

ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Approximately P500,000 worth of properties were lost when the house of an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) was razed by fire Tuesday afternoon, July 30, at Sitio Camanci, Barangay Binuntucan, Pontevedra, Capiz.
The house of Junel Barrosa was completely burned when the fire broke out around 1:15 p.m. and was declared out at 1:50 p.m.
A delivery rider informed the Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP) in Pontevedra about the incident.
According to Herald, the son of the OFW, he was alone in the house playing on his cellphone when the delivery rider called him regarding his parcel. He was shocked to notice that their kitchen was on fire when he returned.
He called for help from neighbors and tricycle drivers who were nearby.
Arson investigators are looking into the incident to determine the cause of the fire.
The house was made of concrete materials.
