BACOLOD City – Nine persons were arrested and an estimated P409,500 worth of suspected shabu were seized in separate anti-illegal drug operations here and in Negros Occidental in the past two days.
On June 22, 2020, Marlon Tanilon, 46; Lucil Antolo, 51; Prince Legaspi, 36; and John Patrick Arca, 35, were arrested in a buy-bust at Barangay Tangub here.
Police seized from the four 19 sachets of suspected shabu worth P224,000, the P500 marked money, and P440 cash. They are now detained at Police Station 2.
Also arrested that day was Celso Alvarez, 35, of Barangay Punta Taytay here after he was allegedly caught throwing a pouch containing two sachets of suspected shabu weighing 5.6 grams and valued at P49,000.
The incident happened while Alvarez was approaching a police checkpoint at Araneta Street in Barangay Sum-ag. He is detained at Police Station 9.
In Silay City, Clemdick Mel Dionio, 33; Joel Ganancial, 20; and Ian Baylon, 43 were also collared on the same day in a drug bust at Barangay 4.
Police confiscated from the trio nine grams of suspected shabu worth P135,000; P3,500 boodle or fake money, P500 marked money, and a lighter.
Last Sunday, Rabben Deso-acido, 20, of Barangay Bunga, Don Salvador Benedicto town was arrested in a buy-bust at the said village, which led to the recovery of P1,500 worth of suspected shabu, the P300 marked money, and P160 cash.
