BACOLOD City – “Walang lugar or space sila (drug users/pushers) dito.”
This was stressed by Police Colonel Noel Aliño, acting director of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), following the seizure of P4,501,600 worth of suspected shabu in two separate buy-bust operations here on May 31 and June 1.
Aliño welcomed the help of the Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit (RPDEU)-6 in the war against illegal drugs here, saying that they had been working together while he was with the Manila Police District.
The first operation was conducted by the RPDEU in Barangay 10, which resulted in the confiscation of 400 grams of suspected shabu worth P2,720,000.
Arrested were subject Jojo Segovia, 21, of Barangay 2, a high value individual (HVI), and Lijun Tayona, 35, of Barangay Pahanocoy, a street level individual.
Police recovered from them the P100,000 marked money and non-drug items. Both are detained at Police Station 2.
Major Rommel Anicete, RPDEU head, said they transacted with Segovia twice and paid him via virtual wallet. He added that Segovia is included in their priority target list at the regional level.
Anicete said they monitored the subject last month after they learned that he allegedly returned to the illegal drug trade. But he said that they will check the background of the two suspects to determine if they have previous cases.
Early the following day, the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) confiscated 262 grams of suspected shabu worth P1,781,600 at Purok Langis, Barangay, Banago.
Police identified the subject as Malcomb Marshall, 24, of the said village, an alleged High Value Individual.
Aliño said they are targeting the suppliers of the illegal drugs here, thus they are intensifying their campaign against illegal drugs.
