P303,280 worth of fake cigarettes seized

BACOLOD City – More or less P303,280 worth of alleged fake cigarettes were seized at Barangay San Jose, Sipalay City, Negros Occidental Thursday, October 17.

Authorities also arrested Monsay Comagul, 36, of Barangay 5.

Personnel of Sipalay City Police Station intercepted a tricycle loaded with the said contraband.

Police records indicated that Comagul was driving the tricycle from Bacolod and was supposed to deliver the items to Sipalay City when he was arrested.

Authorities recovered 248 reams of White Marvels, 148 reams of Red Marvels, and 50 reams of white Mighty cigarettes.

The confiscated items and the tricycle used by the suspect were brought to the police station for custody.
