Different police units in Western Visayas seized PHP 29,471,000 worth of shabu during a 15-day operation, police said.
Police Regional Office 6 said authorities seized approximately 4.334 kilograms of shabu from Nov. 1–15.
The confiscated drugs carry a standard street value of PHP 29,471,000, the police statement said.
Sixty-eight suspected drug personalities were arrested during 51 coordinated police operations across the region.
Seventeen of the suspects were classified as high-value individuals, and 51 were considered street-level drug personalities.
The Iloilo Police Provincial Office posted the largest haul, seizing 2.319 kilograms of shabu.
A large portion of IPPO’s confiscation came from the Nov. 15 arrest in Sara, Iloilo, of a suspect known as “Cheche,” her brother and her live-in partner, with Cheche widely referred to as the “Drug Queen of the North.”
The arrests yielded about 1.8 kilograms of shabu valued at PHP 12,240,000.
The Regional Police Drug Enforcement Unit 6 seized 1.205 kilograms, while the Iloilo City Police Office seized 767 grams.
Brig. Gen. Josefino Ligan, Western Visayas police chief, lauded the operatives’ commitment and professionalism.
“Your tireless efforts demonstrate the PNP’s dedication to ensuring safer communities,” he said.
Ligan urged officers to strengthen partnerships with residents, government agencies and other stakeholders to prevent the proliferation of illegal drugs and hold offenders accountable.
The intensified operations come as the Philippine National Police has prioritized regional crackdowns on illegal narcotics in recent months to disrupt distribution networks and arrest suspected high-value targets.
