BACOLOD City – Fourteen persons were arrested while PHP263,260 worth of suspected shabu was seized in separate buy-bust operations here and in nine localities in Negros Occidental from January 22 to 24.
In Bacolod, PHP112,300 worth of suspected shabu was confiscated and five persons were arrested last Sunday.
The biggest operation was conducted by the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) at Purok Langis, Barangay Banago, which resulted in the confiscation of 15 grams of the said contraband worth PHP102,000.
Police arrested Gicelle Pilaro, 22; and Jerome Altarios, 22, both residents of the said village.
Authorities recovered from them seven sachets of suspected shabu and the PHP500 marked money. Both suspects are detained at Police Station 3.
Another drug bust operation was conducted by Police Station 8 at Barangay 14 which led to the apprehension of three persons and seizure of PHP10,300 worth of suspected shabu.
In the province, nine persons were arrested in the cities of Silay, Cadiz, and Himamaylan, and the towns of Murcia, E.B. Magalona, Manapla, Isabela, Calatrava, and La Castellana.
The provincial police seized PHP150,960 worth of the said contraband in the past three days.
