P26,000 worth of illegal firecrackers seized

BACOLOD City – Task Force Paputok seized prohibited firecrackers worth P26,000 during an inspection at the Bacolod Fireworks Display Zone beside St. John Paul Tower last Tuesday.
Police Lieutenant Colonel Ariel Pico, public information officer of Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO), said the confiscated firecrackers include Kamara, kwitis, whistlebomb, and katay.
These items were seized from some of the 68 stores at the firecracker display zone.
The inspection was led by the BCPO and Executive Assistant Ernie Pineda.
The seized items were brought to the BCPO while the retailers were warned against selling prohibited firecrackers.
Pico said they will continue to monitor and conduct inspection to different stores to prevent them from selling the illegal firecrackers.
