BACOLOD City – Five persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations after the seizure of P247,860 worth of suspected shabu here and in Negros Occidental on Friday and Saturday.
The operation in Silay City last Saturday recorded the highest drug recovery of P142,800 from pedicab driver Amir Apinan, 54, of Barangay Rizal.
Apinan is a street-level individual, according to the police.
In an interview with Aksyon Radyo Bacolod, Apinan admitted using illegal drugs but denied selling the contraband.
Two persons were also apprehended in Bago City and Hinigaran town that day.
Police confiscated from them P8,840 worth of suspected shabu, and P1,020 worth of the same contraband, respectively.
In Bacolod, a man was also busted by personnel of Police Station 8 in Barangay Tangub that day with the recovery of P47,600 worth of suspected shabu.
Last Friday, another man was also arrested in Kabankalan City after he allegedly yielded P47,600 worth of suspected shabu.
