BACOLOD City – Drug charges were already filed yesterday against a woman who was arrested in a buy-bust at Purok Cheriza 2, Barangay 27 here last Thursday.
Caroline Benal, 39, of the said village, is facing charges for sale and illegal possession of dangerous drugs, according to Police Lieutenant Joeven Mogato, head of City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU).
Mogato said that Benal is a street level individual, who reportedly yielded the P1,000 marked money and 28 grams of suspected shabu worth P190,000.
Mogato said Benal allegedly gets the illegal drugs from a source in the village, then repacks and distributes her stocks. She, however, refused to divulge her source’s identity.
Mogato said that Benal just got the contraband from her source last week, thus the CDEU launched the operation against her, after about five days to a week of monitoring.
Benal, who has yet to be reached for comment, is detained at Police Station 4.
