BACOLOD City – The newly-constructed Talisay City Fire Station building in Negros Occidental was inaugurated yesterday.
Senior Superintendent Jerry Candido, regional director of Bureau of Fire Protection (BFP)-6, led the inauguration rites during his visit in the city, along with the local government officials.
Candido told over Aksyon Radyo Bacolod that the building was a modern structure that is the template for all fire stations in the country.
The project costs P19.4 million and was funded by the national government from the BFP’s 2018 budget, he added.
Candido said he’s thankful that the project materialized and can now be utilized by the personnel.
Candido said it is important to have a good facility to cater clients and for the personnel to be comfortable.
He thanked the city government for being active and for supporting the BFP with the equipment and other assistance.
Senior Inspector Jovelyn Zamar, city fire marshal, said they were happy with the said development.
“We are ready to serve the Talisaynons,” Zamar said.
Meanwhile, Candido said that Pontevedra Fire Station was also inaugurated last Friday, and Hinigaran Fire Station two weeks ago.
