BACOLOD City – Police seized around 25 grams of suspected shabu worth P170,000, a firearm, and ammunition in a buy-bust at Purok Mainuswagon 1, Barangay Lag-asan, Bago City, Negros Occidental last Tuesday.
Cops also arrested John Paul Peñol, 26, of Barangay Poblacion, who allegedly sold a sachet of suspected shabu to a police agent for P500.
Also recovered were the P500 marked money, P100, an improvised tooter, a .357-caliber revolver, three live cartridges, and a motorcycle.
According to the police, Peñol was placed under monitoring for a month and was reportedly engaging in the illegal drug trade in the areas of Valladolid town and Bago City.
Drug charges and additional case for violation of Republic Act 10591 or Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Act are being readied against Peñol who is detained at Bago City Police Station.
