BACOLOD CITY – Two alleged high-value individuals (HVIs) were arrested in a buy-bust operation in Barangay 10 on Sunday, resulting in the confiscation of 130 grams of suspected shabu valued at PHP 884,000.
Operatives of the City Drug Enforcement Unit (CDEU) arrested a certain “Tata,” 24, and a certain “Wilma,” 22, both residents of the said village.
According to the Police Regional Office–Negros Island Region (PRO-NIR), the operation was initiated based on information from an informant alleging that Tata was engaged in the sale of illegal drugs at her residence.
Upon receiving the tip, CDEU operatives coordinated with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) to conduct casing and surveillance.
Both suspects are currently detained at Police Station 2.
PRO-NIR said the recent arrest and seizure reflect the effectiveness of coordinated efforts between law enforcement and the community in safeguarding public safety and upholding the rule of law.
