At least 50,000 individuals are expected to attend the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas national rally in Iloilo City on Feb. 13, 2025.
The rally, backed by the Marcos administration, will take place at Gaisano Capital Iloilo City Center Mall in Mandurriao at 2 p.m.
Around 800 vehicles will transport attendees to and from the venue.
The Traffic and Transportation Management Office (TTMO) will enforce a road closure on Diversion Road leading to the Gaisano Capital grounds ahead of the rally.
To accommodate the event, the Iloilo City Council approved a temporary road closure through an ordinance passed on Feb. 12.
With large crowds and heavy traffic expected, Mayor Jerry Treñas issued Executive Order (EO) No. 19, suspending face-to-face classes at all levels on Thursday, Feb. 13.
“In lieu of the suspension of face-to-face classes, respective school heads are highly encouraged to observe an alternative delivery mode of instruction,” the EO stated.
However, regular work operations at City Hall will continue as usual.
On the same day, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) will hold the “Trabaho Para sa Bagong Pilipinas” job fair at the Iloilo Sports Complex, which is expected to draw around 5,000 participants.
The Iloilo rally follows the kickoff proclamation rally of the Alyansa para sa Bagong Pilipinas at the Ilocos Norte Centennial Arena in Laoag City on Feb. 11.
The alliance, led by Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP) and Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD), has expanded to include:
- Nationalist People’s Coalition (NPC)
- Nacionalista Party (NP)
- National Unity Party (NUP)
The event aims to mobilize support for the Marcos administration’s senatorial slate in the 2025 midterm elections.
