Over 3,500 Ilonggos benefit from KonSulTa services

More than 3,500 residents in Iloilo province availed of free medical consultations and profiling under the KonSulTa program of the Philippine Health Insurance Corp. (PhilHealth) from June to August 2025.

The program, conducted in partnership with the Provincial Health Office (PHO) and rural health units (RHUs), aims to improve access to primary healthcare by providing medical consultations, preventive services, and basic screenings for PhilHealth members.

The PhilHealth Konsultasyong Sulit at Tama (KonSulTa) program, an expansion of the agency’s Primary Care Benefit under the Universal Health Care law, provides outpatient services for all membership categories.

It promotes early disease detection through the First Patient Encounter (FPE), which includes consultations with doctors, health education, and health risk assessments.

Data from the PHO showed that 1,500 patients were profiled in 11 municipalities in June, 1,400 consultations were provided in another 11 municipalities in July, and nearly 600 patients were served in four municipalities in August.

The health office said the continuing rollout of the KonSulTa program is vital in reaching underserved communities.

The PHO, PhilHealth, and RHUs will continue to bring the initiative to more municipalities in the coming months.
