Over 3,000 Capiz residents access government services, aid

ROXAS CITY, Capiz — More than 3,000 Capiz residents accessed government services and assistance Monday, Sept. 14, through “Handog ng Pangulo: Serbisyong Sapat Para sa Lahat” at Robinsons Place Roxas.

Led by the Capiz provincial government, the one-stop activity brought together national and local government agencies to offer job opportunities, health services, livelihood assistance, financial aid through the UPLIFT program, support for local micro, small and medium enterprises, and other government programs.

The initiative is part of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s commitment to bring essential government services, assistance and opportunities directly to communities.

Most activities were held at Robinsons Place Roxas in Pueblo de Panay.

Preparations were discussed Thursday morning, Sept. 10, during a coordination meeting with participating government agencies at the Hall of Governors in the Capiz Provincial Capitol.

Participating agencies included PhilHealth, the Philippine Statistics Authority, Pag-IBIG Fund, Social Security System, Department of Trade and Industry, Department of Labor and Employment, and Technical Education and Skills Development Authority.

Legal, medical and dental services were also offered.

Rice was sold for PHP 20 per kilogram in front of the provincial capitol as part of the program.

The nationwide “Handog ng Pangulo” initiative marked Marcos’ 69th birthday on Sept. 13, with government agencies providing services and assistance through coordinated activities across the country.

Similar activities were scheduled nationwide for Sept. 14 to bring employment, livelihood, social protection and other services closer to communities. The Philippine Information Agency reported that the initiative was set to cover 82 provinces.
