More than 2,000 qualified employees of the Iloilo Provincial Government are set to receive at least PHP 47,000 in incentives before Christmas, according to the Association of Iloilo Provincial Government Employees (AIPGE).
AIPGE President Ma. Airis Penetrante confirmed that the Sangguniang Panlalawigan approved Supplemental Budgets 3 and 4 on December 17.
The approved budgets allocate funds for the following incentives:
- PHP 22,000 Collective Negotiation Agreement (CNA) Incentive
- PHP 20,000 Service Recognition Incentive (SRI)
- PHP 5,000 Productivity Enhancement Incentive (PEI)
Job hires and contract workers may receive up to PHP 7,000 in gratuity pay. The government is working to increase the initial PHP 2,000 allocation, subject to Department of Budget and Management (DBM) guidelines.
Penetrante highlighted that these incentives recognize the dedication and hard work of provincial employees.
“Incentives are a way to encourage employees to perform their responsibilities even better,” she said.
Initially, employees were expected to receive only PHP 15,000 for the CNA incentive. However, Governor Arthur Defensor Jr., together with employees from the Rep. Pedro G. Trono Memorial Hospital in Guimbal, led the submission of a position paper to the DBM, resulting in an increase to PHP 22,000.
“These incentives reflect the provincial government’s recognition of the workforce’s contributions,” Penetrante added.
The release of these incentives is expected to boost the morale of Iloilo’s provincial government employees as they celebrate the holiday season.
