ROXAS CITY, Capiz – Only one KTV bar here is operating with permits from the city government.
According to Roselyn Estrebilla, head of the Business Permit and Licensing Division at the Roxas City Hall, the management of the KTV bar is in the process of securing permits to operate.
Estrebilla said they visited six KTV bars here last year but only one complied with the required permits because some of them have problems with the structure of the building and in securing pink cards for their female workers, among others.
She noted that KTV bars without permits start their operations at around 9 p.m. to skirt concerned government agencies that monitor their activities and compliance.
The business and licensing chief said that she is willing to go with the inspection team at night time if the mayor so orders.
Earlier, Roxas City councilor Moreno Gonzaga raised the problem of rampant prostitution in Roxas City.
