BACOLOD City – A person deprived of liberty (PDL) in Police Station 4 here and two more personnel of the Bacolod City Police Office (BCPO) tested positive for coronavirus disease 2019 (COVID-19).
Police Lieutenant Liberty Indiape, BCPO information officer, said of the 14 PDLs at the said police station, only one of them was infected based on the swab test results released on Monday night.
The PDLs were swabbed as part of the contact tracing measures after 14 uniformed personnel of the station contracted the virus that prompted the temporary closure of the station since April 24, 2021.
Indiape said the infected PDL was asymptomatic and was already transferred to a quarantine facility after he was allowed by the court.
Indiape added that two members of the City Mobile Force Company assigned to the field were the new COVID cases recorded among the BCPO personnel, bringing the total to 18 active cases.
The two infected cops were also asymptomatic and were already quarantined, Indiape said. She added that contact tracing is ongoing.
