One killed, another injured in road mishap

BACOLOD City – A man died while his companion was injured after their motorcycle collided with a truck at Sitio Bunacan, Barangay Salamanca, Toboso, Negros Occidental last Sunday.
Killed was Rey Cansancio, 34, of the said village, according to the police.
Jimmy Mahilum, 61, of the same barangay, was wounded.
Investigation indicated that the motorcycle driven by Cansancio allegedly overlapped on the truck’s lane while approaching the curve portion of the road.
Police also believed that Cansancio might have been drunk during the incident.
Both victims sustained injuries after falling from their motorcycle. But Cansancio did not survive at the hospital.
Meanwhile, the 53-year-old truck driver of Barangay Poblacion, was released from police custody last Monday after the lapse of the 18-hour reglementary detention.
