BACOLOD City – A woman died, while her two companions were wounded after they were hit by a pick-up truck in Barangay Pahanocoy here last Tuesday.
Police withheld the names of the 53-year-old fatality and her two wounded companions aged 21 and 22.
Police Captain Melvin Mercado, head of Police Station 8, said the three victims were walking when the alleged speeding vehicle hit one of them and sideswiped the two others who were tailing her.
Mercado said they visited the relative of the older victim at a nearby hospital when the accident happened on their way home.
The older victim was declared dead at the hospital, while the two others suffered minor injuries, according to Mercado.
Mercado said the pick-up truck driver, who is a senior citizen was already released from police custody, following a settlement with the victims’ families.
