BACOLOD City – A man died while four others, including a foreigner, were injured in a multiple vehicular collision at Barangay Hangyad, Bais City, Negros Oriental last Tuesday.
Police identified the fatality as Alfredo Go of Barangay Capiñahan.
Wounded in the accident were American national Harry Peter Star, his partner Marivic Pulvera, Crisante Saga, and Rey Ann Acibo of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP).
Investigation by the Negros Oriental Police Provincial Office (Norppo) indicated that Armel Limbaga, who was driving a wing van truck, lost control over his vehicle due to a mechanical problem and rammed into five vehicles he was tailing.
All the victims were brought to Bais District Hospital, where Go was declared dead. The wounded victims were transferred to a provincial hospital.
Limbaga is in police custody.
