BACOLOD City – A man died while four others were injured after a passenger jeepney hit a truck parked along Granada-Alangilan road, Hacienda Carmen, Barangay Granada here on Monday night.
Killed in the accident was Lorry Fernandez while the wounded were jeepney driver Joshua Solomon Araujo, and passengers Hazel Gatchalian, Abby Araeh Joy Araujo, and John Athan Araujo.
Police investigation showed that the jeepney driver, who was allegedly drunk, rammed into the parked truck driven by Jose Maria Deocampo.

The jeepney was on their way home from a gathering in Barangay Alangilan.
Fernandez, who was seating in the passenger side, suffered severe injuries in the head and other parts of his body which caused his death.
The wounded were taken to Corazon Locsin Montelibano Memorial Regional Hospital here.
Deocampo, who was supposed to eat dinner at that time before heading to the emission center, is now under police custody and will be released if both parties reach a settlement.
